The cid pear story
My name is Tina Givens
Hi!

Cid Pear is a deeply personal story—one rooted in life’s milestones, quiet moments, and joyful celebrations. My love for paper and art has always lived close to my heart, but it truly blossomed when I became a mother. Illustrating became a way to capture joy, tenderness, and the beauty of everyday life.
The name Cid Pear arrived almost magically—soft, lyrical, and perfectly suited to the watercolor style that defines my work. It felt gentle, whimsical, and timeless from the very beginning.

Cid Pear officially launched in 2005 at the International Stationery Show in New York City—a thrilling and vibrant time in the stationery world. The show buzzed with independent stationery shops, international buyers, and major brands, all celebrating the art of beautiful paper.
This was before the digital age transformed how we communicate. People were craving meaningful, tactile connections—lovely paper goods created for life’s special moments. From baby announcements and bridal suites to seasonal greetings and heartfelt thank-yous, paper mattered.
Our studio hummed with creativity and thousands of monthly orders. Cid Pear quickly became a favorite for those who loved whimsy paired with elegance, always printed on high-quality papers. As online shopping expanded, we grew alongside it—serving both retail partners and customers directly.

In 2011, I licensed Cid Pear with CR Gibson®, who was collaborating with smaller boutique brands like ours. This partnership opened exciting doors, allowing the brand to expand into new product categories including writing papers, gift items, and more.
By 2014, life brought unexpected changes. At the same time, digital products were rapidly reshaping the market. I chose to pause, reflect, and thoughtfully consider what the next chapter of Cid Pear should be.

A New Chapter
While raising my children through their teenage and college years and nurturing other creative businesses, Cid Pear rested patiently. I knew one thing for certain—I never wanted to compromise the artistry or the beautiful paper that defined the brand.
Today, I’m delighted to see a renewed love for paper products, and the timing feels just right. Cid Pear has lovingly protected its library of artwork, and I feel inspired once again to create new stories and bring my little characters to life.
As I watch my now-adult children thrive and bloom, I find myself in a new season of storytelling—one filled with reflection, gratitude, and fresh creative energy.
Please browse, explore, and enjoy. I’d truly love to hear what you think.
